Job Growth Suggests Resilience of U.S. Recovery
- Labor Department reported Friday that it added 216,000 jobs
- the global economy are storm-tossed, with oil prices rising
-Manufacturing continued its unlikely — if still modest — revival in March, adding 17,000 jobs. Health care added 37,000 jobs in the month, and professional and business services added another 78,000, although about 37 percent of that came from increases in temporary help. It was the 13th straight month of private-sector job growth.
-however, The unemployment rate for blacks and Latinos remains high, at 15.5 percent and 11.3 percent,
- Many economists speak optimistically of the spring’s job growth, but some warys after that because of spectacular debt problems in Europe, uprisings sweeping the oil-rich Middle East, and Japan
Many countries are having problems with unemployment. I remember that Korea had a lot of problems with unemplayment and still have it , and I also heard that Canada is having a hard time too. When I read this kind of news, it makes me sad and depressive. What I want to hear from news is our bright future and how beautiful this world is; however, usually all I can see is about war, murder and other sad storys.
- malady : 심각한 문제; illness, sickness,any disorder or disease of the body
-cumulative : 누적되는;increasing or growing by accumulation or successive additions
ex) the cumulative effect of one rejection after another.
-revival :회복, 부활;restoration to life, consciousness, vigor, strength
-perilously :
- locomotive :기관차 ;a train or individual railroad cars.
- inhospitable : 장소 (기후가) 사람이 살기 힘든; 대접이 나쁜; An inhospitable place is unpleasant to live in.
After the earthquake, Japan became inhospitable place. The speed of thier revival is amazing, yet, people are worried about cumulative effect of the radioactivity because it might cause maladies which is incurable.

Sebastian Thrun : Google's driverless car
-The reason that he started this project is that he lost his best friend in the car accident. He knows that he can not bring his friend back but he wants to save other peoples' lives by make this.
- many teenagers lose their lives due to car accidents and the cause of car accident is human's error, not because of machine.
- so they made one and did a test drive and it seemed quite successful
- I heard and saw many stories about a car accident and how it can terribly change many peoples' lives. It is really easy for humans to make a mistake, but when we are driving, these mistakes become quite deadly and fatal. It would be really great if computers can drive a car for us. It would be much more safer and we can even save our time. I remember my mom had to spend a lot of her time to just give me a ride and even had to wait for me when I am late. I bet driverless car will save many parents' time. furthermore, now adults can drink alcohol as much as they want if they have a driverless car.
- However, side effects of these cars are that police won't be able to make money from drivers and many car auto body shop will have to close their businesses.
-"convinience" this invention will make our lives much easier

-she wants to talk about language loss and globalization of english
-it is really important to communicate across generation
-sadly, today language are dying at a dramatic rate
-according to world university ranking, highest universities are to be found in the universitied of the UK and the US, so everybody wants to have an english education
-but if you are not a native speaker, you have to pass a test;, can it be right to reject a student just because of their linguistic ability? and her answer is no
- she believes that computer scientist, who might be genius does not need the same language as a lawyer.
- she is not against teaching english, global language is needed more than ever; however, she is against using as a barrier.
- For example, Einstein did not have to pass the english test, infact, his english skill was quite poor.
-Test itself cost around $200 and immediatly it becomes a barrier against millions of poor people. we are immediatly rejecting poor people.
- she wants to celebrate diversity
- just because of that test, we can never know what they know.
- this TED talk touch my heart and I can relate a lot to this ted talk because I am not a native speaker. I know that can not express my thoughts many times due to my lack of english skill.
- I love her idea but what can I do. I am going to live in Canada, so I just have to get close with english.
-"Unfairness" life itself is unfair. All I can do is to try my best in my situation.

11 Pictures that I took
My name is Coco Bananakick and I can't keep your eyes off from my pictures.
There are eleven pictures hanging on the wall in the small, non-famous cafe, where nobody comes. Those eleven pictures are hanging there for almost fifty-years, yet everything is still prefect; the lighting, contrast and depth of field. You will be mesmerized by my pictures and eager to buy it but you cannot. My pictures will lose its' light and meaning as soon as it becomes merchandise.
As you open the door, there is my first picture I ever took when I was ten-years old. In a small frame, you can see the river fellowing and the mountain at the back. Children's faces are barely noticealbe yet when you look at it closer, you can see their smile.
Right next to my first one, there is my second picture. Everything seems dark, but when you come closer, then you can see one street light trying to illuminate small town. The light seems weak and powerless , yet it becomes a hope for someone, who is lost. That one street light is the only way for town's people to find out where they are and which way should they go. Without that one light, kids cannot come out from their house at night and people won't know where they are going.
"like a dream" is the title of my thrid picture. There is a girl, sitting in a small cafe, holding her book with one hand and coffee with other hand. There are many people in that cafe, yet she is the only one who catches my eyes. When I look at her, I feel like her red lips are gentally calling my name and her pure eyes are?? watching at me. I went back to the cafe, hopping to find her, yet there was no sign of her. I stayed there day and night, asking other people ; however, the answer was still no. It was like she only exsit in my picture, and in my dream.
"The profusion of flowers" is the title of my fourth picture. The whole picture seemes like it is covered with green, yet there is one tiny white smudge in the middle of a broad plain: A dandelion. The dandelion is swaying in the soft breeze and loses its' shape. It is like a white snow ball, vanishing into thin air.
